Talks between the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo are taking place in Brussels, with European Union mediators hoping the face-to-face meeting will help de-escalate flaring tensions in the region.
Most EU countries view Kosovo as a separate state, but Serbia does not recognise its independence.
The NATO military alliance says its mission in the region is ready to act if the security situation deteriorates.
