Protests erupt in India, after 11 men convicted for rape and murder are released from prison

More than 6000 Indian citizens, including social workers and human rights activists, have urged the country's Supreme Court to revoke the release of 11 men who jailed for life for gang raping a pregnant Muslim woman during religious riots in 2002.

Women's rights activists have staged protests in the capital after these men were granted remission.
