A senior EU official has suggested the 27 country bloc should consider training Ukrainian soldiers to fight Russia.
The proposal comes ahead of Ukraine's independence Day on Wednesday - with Kyiv cancelling celebrations over worries Moscow could use the occasion to launch rocket attacks on civilian areas.
