Japan's LDP Scores Comfortable Victory in Elections

Japan's ruling party scored a comfortable victory in the country's upper house parliamentary elections following the assassination of former Prime Minster Shonzo abe.

The result helps bolster the position of current Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who'd been seeking to strengthen control over the long-ruling Liberal Democratic party.
