Economic policy takes centre stage as final 2 UK Conservative Party candidates battle it out for leadership

Conservative party leadership candidate Liz Truss has criticised the government's previous economic policies.


She says the tax increases brought in by her leadership rival Rishi Sunak in his time as chancellor 'choked off' growth.


The foreign secretary has pledged to decrease taxes if she is elected as Prime Minister in the coming weeks.
