Boris Johnson won't endorse any candidate to succeed him

Boris Johnson says he won't be endorsing any of the 11 candidates who have declared an interest in replacing him as Conservative Party leader and UK Prime Minister.

He says he worries that an endorsement could damage the chances of any candidate he selects.

The party's 1922 Committee that runs the election says the field of 11 will be narrowed down to two choices by next Thursday, through a series of votes of the Conservative parliamentary party.

Boris Johnson says he wants to get on with the job while he remains in office.
