Victims of gun violence describe horror to US lawmakers as the Senate tries to find common ground on gun control

An 11 year-old survivor of the elementary school shooting in Texas has described the attack which killed 19 children and two teachers, in a video played before US lawmakers.

Miah Cerillo smeared herself in her friend's blood to appear dead before calling the police from her teacher's phone.

Bipartisan talks continue in the US Senate on a relatively modest response to gun violence.
