US-Taiwan talks focus on defense weapons

The United States and Taiwan are holding annual security talks aimed
at providing extra weapons support to the island, in the face of
increased aggression from Beijing.

The Chinese government has warned any attempt at Taiwanese
independence would be met with military action.
