The US House of Representatives has passed the first significant gun control legislation in nearly three decades, following a series of deadly mass shootings in America.
The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act was approved in the lower chamber on Friday by a vote of 234-193, with 14 Republicans joining all the Democrats.
