UK GDP falls for second consecutive month amid cost of living crisis

The UK economy shrank in April, for the second month running.

Data from the Office for National Statistics shows GDP fell by 0.3%, adding to the 0.1% drop already recorded in March.

The fall is being linked to soaring energy costs, as well as the winding down of the NHS test and trace programme.
