Pressure mounts on United Nations over Xinjiang human rights concerns

Pressure is mounting on the United Nations to deepen its investigation into allegations of human rights abuses in China’s north-western region of Xinjiang. Lawmakers in the US and Europe are calling for more action, after a UN delegation to the region faced accusations of whitewashing the situation.
