Authorities in Nigeria's northwest state of Zamfara have okayed death penalty for criminal gangs who have been killing and kidnapping citizens for ransom in the state.
The state governor, Bello Matawalle signed it into law, shortly after it was recommended by the parliament in the state on Tuesday.
