Human rights lawyer says Two British men sentenced to death by Russian-backed court will be difficult to free

Two British men who fought in the Ukrainian army and were captured by Russian forces have been sentenced to death.

Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner were both legitimate members of the Ukrainian army when they were captured in the city of Mariupol.

On Thursday a Russian-backed court labelled them mercenaries and sentenced them to death.

The UK government has condemned the ruling and is working to overturn it.

But Human rights lawyer Wayne Jordash said it would be difficult to fight it.
