European Union lawmakers have voted down key parts of the bloc's climate legislation package, with a majority deeming compromise plans to reform the EU's carbon market as insufficiently ambitious.
The divisions among the bloc's parliamentarians present a surprise setback to the EU's Green Deal climate plans, aimed at achieving a 55% cut in the EU's emissions by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.
