Blast at Texas LNG plant threatens to further strain global supplies

An explosion at a liquified natural gas plant in Texas is worsening concerns about global gas shortages as countries in Europe and elsewhere turn their backs on Russian supplies.

The US was supposed to help fill the gap.

But now Freeport LNG, which operates one of the largest U.S. export plants, says the plant will be shut for at least three weeks.
