UK URGES MONKEYPOX ISOLATION FOR CLOSE CONTACTS

UK officials are advising close contacts of monkeypox cases to self-isolate for 21 days.

20 cases have been confirmed in the UK so far, but a significant rise in infections is expected this week.

Monkeypox is a viral infection most common in parts of Central and West Africa, but dozens of cases have been reported in Europe, North America, Israel and Australia.

Virologist, Professor Paul Hunter, says this outbreak is unusual.
