Putin claims Ukraine invasion was sparked by NATO threat to invade Russia

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has accused the West of preparing an

invasion of the country.


In a highly anticipated speech commemorating  the Soviet Union's role in the allied victory over the Nazis in World War Two, Putin said the invasion of Ukraine was a preventative strike by Russia.


Our Moscow correspondent Julla Chapman was in Red Square for the Victory Day parade and speech…and operates in Russia within the Kremlin's reporting restrictions.
