French President Emmanuel Macron has warned it could take decades for Ukraine to become a member of the European Union, and says the bloc should consider creating a broader European political community.
Macron used a speech marking Europe Day to voice his ideas for a new multilateral organisation, open to democratic European countries which are not members of the EU.
