Finnish president visits Sweden as both nations prepare NATO membership bids

Finnish President Sauli Niinisto is in Sweden for a state visit as the two Nordic countries prepare to submit their applications to join the NATO defensive alliance. 


The move, prompted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, will reverse decades of military non-alignment for Stockholm and Helsinki.
