China, Russia veto new UN Security Council sanctions on North Korea

China and Russia have vetoed a U.S.-led U.N. Security Council resolution to strengthen sanctions on North Korea over its launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

On Thursday, all other members of the council including France, the UK, India, Brazil, Mexico and more supported the resolution.

Despite this, the new measures failed to pass.
