PUBLIC ART PLANNED TO MARK 50 YEARS SINCE ASIAN EXPULSION FROM UGANDA

Leicester City Council in England has announced plans for a permanent sculpture to mark 50 years since the expulsion of Asians from Uganda. About 50,000 Asians were forced to leave the country in 1972, on the orders of former military ruler Idi Amin.
