Faced with no-confidence vote, Pakistan PM calls for fresh elections

Intro:

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has called fresh elections after a vote of no-confidence against him was disallowed by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

The vote could've cost Mr. Khan his tenure.

Opposition parties are calling the cancellation of the vote unconstitutional – and intend to appeal against it in the country's Supreme Court.
