Biden asks Congress for $33B in new aid for Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden is asking Congress to approve more than $30 billion in new funding of security, economic and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine.

He said it's necessary to help its forces defeat Russian attacks over the coming months, and is in addition to the $13.6 billion already approved in March.

The White House has also proposed liquidating the assets of Russian oligarchs to donate to the proceeds for Ukraine.
