U.S. rules Myanmar's military committed genocide against minority Rohingya population

The United States has formally recognised the violence committed against Rohingya by Myanmar's military in 2016 and 2017 does amount to genocide and crimes against humanity.

Thousands of Rohingya were killed, and more than 700,000 others fled into Bangladesh, with accounts of villages being burned, mass killings and rape.
