Japan is to relax its Covid border entry restrictions, according to local media.
The move comes amid mounting pressure from the business community. The country currently bans new entries of foreign nationals, leaving many students and workers unable to travel.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is excepted to formally announce the new measures at a press conference on Thursday evening.
Phoebe Amoroso reports from Tokyo.
