Cressida Dick, the head of the Metropolitan Police, has resigned just hours after insisting she had no intention of yielding to her
critics.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says he told the Commissioner today he was not satisfied with her proposals to reform the police force.
She then chose to resign, right in the middle of efforts by the Metropolitan Police to investigate parties at number 10 Downing Street that may have broken Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
Steven Roberts is a former Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.
