India's daily COVID-19 cases jump 56% as Omicron spreads through large cities

Cases of COVID-19 in India are now growing twenty-one times faster than at the peak of the second wave in May.

The country added more than 90,000 new infections on Thursday – nearly 58% up from the previous day.

Restrictions are beginning to kick in across the nation, as Ishan Garg reports from New Delhi.
