A first estimate of annual growth in GDP from the EU's statistics agency, points to a GDP increase of more than 5% compared to the previous year, marking a strong rebound since 2020.
But growth in the final quarter of the year was hampered by the reimposition of restrictions across much of the EU - led by concerns over the Omicron variant.
