Japanese conservative lawmakers oppose granting foreigners voting rights

Conserative members of Japan's LDP held a press conference Thursday opposing a plan to give foreign residents voting rights in local referendums in a Tokyo suburb. The ordinance - to be debated next week - would be the first of its kind in Japan.
