Japan calls for "appropriate response" from S. Korea on wartime issues

Japan has called for an "appropriate response" from South Korea to resolve issues over wartime compensation and "comfort women" who were forced to work in Japanese military-run brothels.

The Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi met with his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui Yong for the first time over the weekend... as relations between the two countries remain under strain.
