CONSERVATIVES HOLD BEXLEY IN BY-ELECTION

Boris Johnson's Conservative Party has won a by-election in south-east London but with a slashed majority.

Louie French won the seat of Old Bexley and Sidcup after an election triggered by the death of former MP James Brokenshire.

There was a 10% swing to the opposition Labour Party, in what is traditionally a safe Conservative seat.

Tory Party Chairman Oliver Dowden says it's a solid result.
