Confirmed Omicron case sparks Wall Street slide

U.S. stocks gave up healthy gains Wednesday following news that the
first case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant has been confirmed in the
U.S.

The travel sector was hit particularly hard by the news on fears over
fresh coronavirus restrictions.
