Biden tightens testing requirements for incoming travelers to USA

President Biden has announced new Covid-19 testing requirements for international travelers heading to the United States for the holiday season.

He's also pledged to donate 200 million doses of vaccines to the global community within the next 100 days.

The President said the severity of the Omicron variant requires continuing study, and he again urged more than 100 million Americans who have NOT yet received a booster shot to make plans to get one.

His main announcement was about travel.

He also extended facemask requirements for buses, trains and aeroplanes until the spring.

But he did not unveil tougher measures that the White House Press Secretary confirmed today have been discussed, including the possibility of requiring a negative Covid test for domestic travel.
