US ready to defend allies over North Korea missile launch

The United States says its commitment to defending its allies in Asia
"remains ironclad", following North Korea's test of a new long-range
missile.

State media in the reclusive country showed footage of the missile
launch, saying its military had tested a "strategic weapon of great
significance".
