Furlough ends in UK -- Bank of England predicts a rise in unemployment

The UK's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is coming to an end today (Thursday).


Since the start of the pandemic, the so-called furlough scheme saw the government pay towards the wages of people who could not work due to Covid-19, or whose companies could no longer afford to employ them.
