Mixed close on Wall Street despite strong earnings

It was a mixed close for the U.S. markets Thursday despite the release
of some strong earnings reports.

And the Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve has spent another day
fielding questions from U.S. lawmakers about the state of the economy.
