South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority intends to oppose bail for suspects arrested during widespread incidents of looting in the country. More than 450 businesses have been ransacked since Saturday, including entire shopping centres. Government hopes that the tough stance by prosecutors will discourage further incidents of opportunistic looting. Mark Roughton reports.
