FACE COVERINGS TO REMAIN COMPULSORY ON LONDON TRANSPORT

Face coverings will remain compulsory on buses, tubes and trams in London, despite England's legal covid-19 restrictions ending on Monday.

London's Mayor Sadiq Khan has asked the city's transport authorities to make it a "condition of carriage" - saying he's concerned only having advisory guidance on masks will put passengers and staff at risk.

The government's being accused of creating a confusing situation, but Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says the decision's in line with what he expected.

These commuters at Charing Cross station in central London have mixed views.
