Proposals from rebel Conservative MPs to reverse cuts to foreign aid have been rejected in the House of Commons.
The House Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, said the rebel's amendments to the cuts were outside the scope of the bill they were hoping to change and therefore could not be allowed.
