Millions of people across the UK are heading to the polls in the nation's biggest set of votes since the 2019 general election.
Ballots will be cast for the Scottish and Welsh Parliament, as well as councils mayoralties in England, with results expected over the coming days.
A tightly-fought by-election is also taking place in the coastal town of Hartlepool, where a new Member of Parliament will be chosen.
