Trump's grip tightens on Republican party as they oust critic from leadership role

US Republican lawmakers have voted to remove Liz Cheney from her leadership post over her criticism of former president Donald trump, signaling that his influence on the party is stronger than ever.


The daughter of ex-US Vice-President Dick Cheney said she would do all she can to stop Mr Trump from ever becoming president again.
