Sweeping anti-China tech bill moves closer to U.S. Senate vote

A key piece of US legislation aimed at combating China has moved closer to a final vote in the Senate, after a group of Republicans demanded more time to digest its contents.

The sweeping tech bill (which takes direct aim at China) commits 250 billion dollars to boosting American innovation and the production of technical equipment.


Both Democrats and Republicans are taking a hard line on China, in an otherwise deeply divided congress.
