South Africa’s official COVID-19 vaccine rollout is finally able to commence, after the first batch of Pfizer doses landed in the country on Sunday night. To date, all COVID-19 vaccinations in the country have formed part of a clinical trial, using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Supplier delays are placing increasing pressure on government’s ambitious vaccination targets. Mark Roughton reports.
