Boris Johnson has held emergency talks with Britain's Football Association and the country's Premier League to discuss the proposed European Super League.
The competition, described as "ludicrous" by the UK's Prime Minister, would include 12 founding members, six of which are English clubs.
Amid intense backlash to the plans, Real Madrid's President has defended the decision, claiming it would "save football."
