UK GOVT WELCOMES ESL COLLAPSE

All six English clubs involved in the break-away European Super League have now confirmed their withdrawal from the competition.

The Super League itself says it will now consider how to 'reshape' the controversial project.

The tournament would have given the founder members permanent spots - and it was opposed by many fans, governing bodies, players, managers and governments.

UK Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden is welcoming the news that Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea have all pulled out.
