South Africa’s highest court is considering whether former president Jacob Zuma’s defiance of a Constitutional Court order warrants a prison sentence. Lawyers for the Zondo Commission argue that a lesser sentence for Zuma’s alleged contempt of court would not curtail the former president’s abusive behaviour towards the country’s judiciary.
