She's often referred to as the world's most powerful woman, and before her planned retirement later this year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has used International Women's Day to pay tribute to the role women have played fighting Covid-19.
But she also called out inequalities that still exist, telling Germans to work together to ensure progress isn't reversed.
