A year after one of Australias most devastating bushfire seasons tore across parts of the country, much of the countries east coast has been inundated by flooding rains.
Residents of the Hawkesbury region in New South Wales have been warned to remain evacuation ready despite rain easing today, while residents on Queensland's Gold Coast have been advised to be prepared to move to higher ground if water levels continue to rise.
