U.S. strongly condemns the violence in Myanmar

Protestors in Myanmar show no sign of backing down, as they continue to defy a military crackdown following last week’s coup.

Police fired rubber bullets during Tuesday’s demonstration in the capital Nay Pyi Taw, following several days of protests demanding the return of the elected government.

Protestors are also calling for the release of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi, amid reports her party headquarters had been ransacked by the military.

The U.S. has strongly condemned the crackdown, calling for a return to democracy.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price:

IN: “ We strongly..

OUT: from violence
