EU Commission chief apologises for Northern Ireland blunder

The EU Commission chief has apologised for triggering a Brexit clause that would have limited export controls from Europe into Northern Ireland. 

Speaking at the European Parliament in Brussels, Ursula Von Der Leyen said the EU had been overconfident that vaccine supplies would be delivered on time.
